REDBROOK AND LLANDOGO ART ANGELS
Art Angels is a community art project: developed in response to the Covid pandemic and the effect of lockdown on our community. Working together with my good friend Mari Hutchings,
we arrange art material pick-up points and deliver free, weekly Zoom sessions to local children.
Keeping connected and creative while we are physically apart.
From drawing, painting, design, collage, tie dye to glass painting ... there's not much we won't try!
Take a look at our Facebook page to really see what we have been up to.
ART ANGELS SUMMER EXHIBITION
We all need a reason to celebrate - a summer exhibition was the perfect way to showcase the creative endeavours of the children. All children took part and artworks were hung in the local church. Parents transformed the space with fresh flowers
and we were proud to celebrate in a Covid safe manner - fabulous!
TIE DYE NATIVITY
How do you produce a Covid safe nativity? Ask the Art Angels. Months of preparation, with every aspect made by the children:
from costume to credits; props to backdrops; songs written and lines learnt.
A true community story.
We hope you enjoy our 20min feature film.
Did you know we were even featured on BBC Breakfast? We even had a Good Luck message from David Tennant !
GREATER COMMUNITY
I find genuine joy in contributing to my local community in the Wye Valley.
This past year we have found even greater benefits by connecting as a community.
WINDOW WANDERLAND
This Christmas, inspired by WindowWanderland.com,
we created and supported a window advent calendar, complete with trail map. This actively encouraged families to collaborate creatively, enjoy the anticipation of new window displays throughout December.
SHINE BRIGHT Redbrook was born, maintained by a small collective of volunteers
SHINE BRIGHT FESTIVAL OF HOPE
January 2021 sees the launch of our village 'Festival of Hope'
As we find ourselves again in lockdown, it feels more important than ever to support our local community. I look forward to championing #30daysofcreativity, as well asco-ordinating our first village participatory artworks project -
watch this space!
